How to dust a lampshade
July 11th, 2007
The idea came to me the other night. I needed to clean my house and I didn’t have much time left, especially for dusting lampshades of all things. What if I used the lint roller, which I had just finished using on my shirt, to remove the dust from my smooth fabric lampshades. I thought it was worth trying, so I did and it worked wonderfully. I must say it was amazing how fast and easy it was to dust the lampshades. It took two minutes tops and I hesitate to say this, but I hadn’t dusted these lampshades in at least two years. So, next time you have to clean your lampshades, why not give this technique a try. I think you might agree it is so much better than a duster, a rag, or a vacuum cleaner.

We also use the lint roller to pick up our dogs, Jack and Jill’s hair on the furniture and clothes. It works great for stuff like that. And I must say even though the lampshades were not dusted in 2 years they looked brand new after using the lint roller on them. The kids even have fun using the lint roller to dust around the house.
